PAY IT FOWARD:

These are the organizations I have paid it forward to. It’s just my way of giving back. The premise is mostly based on trying to help those that want to help themselves- or help those that are helping others. I gravitate towards individuals and smaller organizations and try to get an upfront and personal feel for the organizations and people I attempt to help. A tax refund has never been the criteria- the thought that most, or all of my money is going directly to the person that needs it is most important. It is also personally gratifying to see the direct result and the impact it has.

The RealtorGlen Scholarship  : Past Award Winners

2013: Amber Monteiro

2014:  Dwayne Lemos

Dwayne is a Grade 7 student in the Surrey School District. He has a fascination with space and the galaxies and his career goal is to become an astronaut. Dwayne was assessed by the Greater Victoria School district and designated “gifted” with a scholastic ability score, placing him in the 99 percentile. Dwayne is also a talented musician. He plays the guitar and has participated in many talent shows and recitals, receiving certificates for his exemplary performances. Dwayne takes guitar lessons as he wants to learn more. He teaches himself all the latest songs from the internet and is even teaching his little brother to play the guitar. He hopes to become a professional guitarist and give back to the community; playing in the church choir and teaching guitar privately to those who may not be able to afford lessons. Well done Dwayne! You have a bright future ahead of you. Congratulations on being the recipient of the 2014 Realtor Glen Scholarship Award.

It’s a great feeling to be able to help those that want to help themselves. Here is a link to my account and my loan history. You can also check out the organization through this link.

It uses microfinance to assist those who would not normally qualify from a conventianl loan.

If you know of a similar set up in BC – please let me know- I would love to get involved.

In BC - Kick for a Cure is a CBSA start-up that I am happy to help with.

Habitat for Humanity - A friend – Alan Antasuda is leading a team to Nicaragua Nov 2012 and I am honoured to help out.
Jan 2013: Habitat for Humanity – Karjat, India build – I was then fortunate to be able to volunteer on my first build with Habitat. A great experience where a team of 16 Canadians from all over Canada came together to build 2 homes that housed three families in a village in India, just outside Mumbai.
I would love to work with an organization that is BC based and looks to help individuals that wish to help themselves succeed.
I have set a goal of 10 % of my income from real estate to go to these and other charities. I could not do this without the support of the people that put their trust in me in assisting with their real estate needs. Thank you to all my clients for their support. I have currently been fortunate to help with contributions to the following:

A local framer in Surrey gives food away to the needed. I am proud to have donated to his campaign to raise funds to buy a tractor for the farm.  (I first heard of this place when he flooded the field during winter to create a free outdoor skating rink for anyone that wanted to skate!
